Poem by Dr.Ruchi Gupta

Mother's Dilemma
Mother's Dilemma

To be a mother, is like walking on the edge,

"I will be the best" is every mother's pledge.

Every day a new challenge she has to face,

With changing times she has to keep pace.

Her emotions, expressions, tone and speech,

Does she scold, shout, plead or preach?

Under everyone's constant scrutiny and gaze,

Too gentle, too strict comments leave her fazed....

Discard the doubts and don't listen to what other's say,

One small prayer recite night and day,

God let me give all my love to my child,

And let me not take discipline too mild.

As the diamond undergoes the cuts and grinds,

And then gets it's worth and it's shine,

Guide me to mould and shape my little one,

I want God to say " Mom well done".
